Well, it's NICE to have gotten such support for our wonderful breed through many emails and calls of support --

I am writing to let you know that I think your Pit Bull Ban is shameful and that a person of your caliber ought to realize that. While I am positive that you had the welfare of all Denver citizens in mind when you wrote the ban, I cannot understand how you could come to the conclusion that eradicating a single breed would eliminate dog attacks. Every breed, every dog has the ability to become aggressive, from small chihuahuas to colossal great danes. "

"I believe, unfortunately, that you too are a victim of the media's misrepresentation of this intelligent and loyal breed. Perhaps "concerned citizens" have pressured you into taking this overwhelmingly extreme measure- or perhaps this is a political pedestal."

"Whatever the cause, it important for you and the town of Denver as a whole to understand that the owners are responsible for their pets' behavior: dogs, like children, are a product of their environment. As Pavlov says, each and every behavior is learned, and it is crucial for you to realize that and put an end to this apalling ban. Thank you for your time.

Nice letters like that go a LONG way, in my eyes!

The only comment I would add is that some pit bulls have a
higher dog-aggression tendency than others, since many of them were bred
originally for dog fighting. Some have high aggression, some have NONE - !!
Responsible owners are aware of this, and handle
their dogs accordingly.

Also, regardless of their dog-aggressive traits, pit bulls should NOT have any
human-aggression traits -- they simply were not bred for it (to be
guard dogs, etc.), and it is NOT a desired trait!

GREAT WORK, again -- it's nice to see such energy and such great ownership!
