Step 1 : Background

Here is the clinic we chose for Barbie's spay -- the same one who did little Hercules this past spring --

-- this is small-town USA -- a busy clinic (always a good sign!!) and a head-veterinarian who lives upstairs -- !!

As I awaited the surgery, I saw 4 or 5 patients come in --

-- I was impressed with how the staff was so polite and attentive to every dog and their owner --

-- one pup, who was 11, had never been on heartworm medication --

-- instead of making a big deal of it, the staff did a blood-test of the pup (for heartworm) and got the pup on preventative --

-- I wish ALL vet visits were this receptive -- !!

Next, we're greeted by little Murray, the owner's own pup --

-- Murray is a twelve year-old Jack Russell Terrier, a wise and sweet old boy --

-- he spends his days by walking the clinic, greeting everyone and jumping on your lap if you're lucky -- !!

And Barbie's crate, where we await her drugs to kick in --

-- she'll be dreaming of happy days in no time -- !!

And here's our patient, foster Barbie, who's as sweet as a pea, and whose adoption page can be found here...

And finally, the veterinarian, Dr. C -- the most important part of this story -- I couldn't be more happy than to have such a talented surgeon spaying little Barbie!
