I recently heard from, Jess, an SPBR adopter whose pup, Midnight, was also featured on last year's calendar.

Jess writes --

"Attached are some pics of "China".  China is a 8 year old red nose pit bull.  She has lived with the same owner for all her years.  Here is her story....  She was being cared for by a older woman who suffers from Arthritis.  The woman claims that she can no longer care for her and give her the attention and care she deserves."

"The woman was renting out a house and had the yard space for China , but due to unfortunate circumstances the woman has to rent out an apartment where China is not welcomed.

Because of the woman's health she has decided to surrender China .  She has been trying to find China a good home for a while now and unfortunately not many people want an 8 year old pit bull.  The woman thought her only option was to put China down, until she met ME!!!"

"I told her about your rescue Eric and how great you are at what you do.  She was very happy to hear that China has a chance at finding a good caring home.

I drove 2 hrs into Long Island to get China and brought her to my house here in CT.  She has been great with all people she's met.  She has been great with my kids ages 7, 9, and 14.  Oh yeah, I now have a 14 year old, but that's a whole other story.  She has been great with my husband and myself."

"I also introduced her to some of my neighbors, and strangers on the street and she was great.  She is fully house broken.  She has been roaming around my house and has been great.  She enjoys jumping up on my couch (which I am not very fond of) but she doesn't care -- !!

In my opinion... this dog has never ever been trained.  She doesn't know any commands as far as sit, stay or OFF. She also doesn't even really respond to her own name (or maybe she just wants to ignore me). She has alot of energy for an 8 year old,  that's for sure."

"The woman told me she is great with other dogs and never had a problem with her with dogs or cats.  But she didn't like Midnight.  I tried to socialize them slowly and at first she seemed fine and good, but when I let her off the leash that was a different story.

But to be honest Midnight has that affect on dogs.  He's not too like-able.  I don't know why because he's soooo cute!!"

"Oh and she is not spayed.  Oh and I forgot to mention how beautiful she is.  As you can see in the pics she is definitely a beauty.  She also is on the chunky side (due to lack of exercise and probably over feedings).  China has been fed house food all her life.

Eric, I hope you can find China a good loving home.  She is really a good loving dog.  If I didn't have Midnight, I would definitely consider keeping her for myself.

Thanks Eric,

Jess"

Well, you can see what a sweet senior girl little China is, and how wonderful she is with everyone!

THANK YOU, Jess, for saving this girl -- I love it when past adopters help with the breed in cases like this -- not only did you go out of your daily comfort zone to help this girl, but you showed everyone what a love she is -- !!

Before placement, she will be microchipped and spayed.

Are you interested in this swank senior? Can you show her happy days ahead?

If so, fill out an adoption application above!
