Eli needs a light at the end to ensure his survival -- could it be you?? |

I recently was called by a veterinarian whose clinic took little Eli in as a stray --
-- he was found on the side of the road, hit by a car, and suffered a broken leg and minor head trauma.
This was Weds, 8/31/05 --

|
Since then the clinic has splinted his fractured leg and has also taken care of his other scrapes and bruises --
-- as you can see, he is a tough little boy and is already trying to walk again --
-- he still needs either an internal plate or external brace on his leg, which the hospital is equipped to do --
-- however, since it is their first "rescue", they have never really done any pro bono work like this -- usually a dog like Eli would be euthanised -- :(
|
I am trying to get the hospital to donate the surgery for little Eli (fingers crossed!), and they said him being adopted would help his case in getting full medical treatment --
-- I also mentioned they could neuter him while he was in the operating room -- something little Eli didn't like to hear -- !!
Eli definitely has the cards stacked against him -- an adult male pit bull (although only 1-2 years old), a broken leg, and the clock running down quickly...

Little Eli is a sweetheart, as can be seen here -- he is in quite a bit of pain, but regardless of his pain, he still lets everyone pet and coddle with him --
-- his scheduled date of euthanasia is Monday, September 5th, unless adopted beforehand.
Any and all surgery and instructions needed for his rehabilitation will be provided to the adoptive family, that's for sure --

-- thank you --
