Here is Fatima, an Ohio pit bull -- a miracle of sorts, and a representation of the good in people.
The good in the person I'm speaking about is Mary, who emailed me Fatima. Mary is sticking up for this Ohio pit bull, networking her and trying her best to get her in to a wonderful home --
-- this is something -- actually, it is a lot, compared to the thousands of pit bulls who are left to stand their "term" in their pound pens, and who then get euthanised, with no attempts made to re-home them.
Mary deserves credit -- a lot of it. And so does Fatima -- she is a good girl, albeit in a bit of a bind.

First off, what does "Fatima" mean?
From here, I found this --
"Fatima is a visit by Our Heavenly Mother Mary in our time for our time. It is a Message of concern, a practical plan for world peace, a promise of Heaven.
It is Heaven's interventions to save us from persecution, martyrdom, war, enslavement or annihilation. Above all it's a way to save our souls from Hell. It is meant for you."
Somewhat cool -- and somewhat theological!
Getting back to earth, Mary writes --
"Good afternoon -- I'm a volunteer at the County Dog Shelter in Ohio. I got your contact information from Alex at the Shelter with whom you've talked in the past when we've had a pit bull at the Shelter."

"We have a darling young (about a year) female pit bull, Fatima, who was dumped at the Shelter Sunday night.
She's about a year old, very sweet tempered and playful. As you may know, Ohio has terrible breed specific legislation, so we find it impossible to adopt out pit bulls. Therefore, I'm searching for an out of state rescue that might be able to take her, and we would provide transportation. I'm contacting you to see if there might be room or if you could give me names of other rescues I could contact.
Thank you for any help you might be able to provide. Mary"

So, there's little Fatima's story --
-- look at her wagging tail here.
She is a good girl, and she needs a blessing --
-- a responsible, caring blessing who won't give up on her when her owner's life situation changes --
-- what that means, someone who will stick by her through thick and thin --
-- someone who will give her unconditional love and who, in turn, will receive it ten-fold from little Fatima.
Could that be you?
If so, fill out an adoption application above!
