Well, here's another tough story -- Michelle was saved though, thankfully --
-- her guardian angel writes:
"I do need help with a poor pit mix I named Michelle, I BEGGED her miserable "owner" at the Brooklyn CACC 2 weeks ago to give me a few days before surrendering her which he said he would, they are euthing like crazy there and the pits stand no chance.
She was submissive and scared as they stood out front of the place. Long story short, as I was loading the dogs I was there for into my car he had a fight with the people inside when they told him it was $30 to surrender so he left. As I was leaving I see this poor girl running across 4 lanes of the road in front of the place - he tied her up a few blocks across this busy road and left her for dead. She ran to the shelter and they grabbed her. I waited for her A number and 72 hours later (b/c she was on stray hold, what a joke) I picked her up. She was COVERED in ticks and terrified. She was at my vet for a week, bathed, heartworm/lyme tested (negative) and cared for. Right now Michelle is with a certified dog trainer that I am paying to work with her and foster her. She is doing excellent.
Can you help me at all with her???"
