Their rescuer writes --
"The litter of pups were dumped at a dog shelter. The mama was given away and the puppies dumped at the pound. They are boxer/pit mix and are very social. There is one of the tan ones that is a little growly at the food dish but we are working on that. The single pup is with his Mom here in our kennels. They were seized in a drug raid.
I believe Mom was probably used as a bait dog as she has a good bit of scarring on and around her face, throat, and shoulders. Her front teeth have also been knocked out and her canines have been broken off. She is wonderful with her pup and with people but we keep her separate. She is not aggressive with kennel neighbors or passing dogs. I did not plan to send Mom unless you specifically wanted her. The pup has been weaned."
Well, there are awful humans and there are good ones -- let's just be happy that this group encountered some good ones at the end of their hellish journey --

I am trying to get pictures of the mother, who I would like to help also. I have given these babies Dutch names, to make their otherwise cruel start a little more colorful, and hopefully more fun.
