Sadie's got an upcoming hiccup in her life -- can you help her through it?

Here's little Sadie, a sweet girl in Maine whose world is about to change for the worse -- her rescuer writes --

"Sadie's Parents are moving out-of-state. If Sadie does not find a loving home shortly, she will be taken to the shelter. Pit bulls do not hold up well in the shelter environment which often leads to them being euthanized. Please do not let Sadie be sent to the shelter.

Sadie is a very sweet and petite Pitbull pup who has had a very hard time in her short life.

Sadie is estimated to be between 8 and 9 months old. She is underweight at approximately 35 lbs. Sadie needs to gain about 5 lbs to be at her optimal weight.

Sadie is tan with a white chest and little white paws. Her ears and tail have not been cropped."

"Sadie was picked up by Animal Control in October 2005. Her caretaker had gone to jail and left poor Sadie to fend for herself.

The Animal Control Officer who picked her up saw Sadie's sweet and friendly demeanor. He knew that this girl deserved better than to be put in a kennel in a shelter. He found a foster home for Sadie, where she lived peacefully with a male Black Lab, until she was placed in her current home."

"Sadie's current parent work multiple jobs and attend school. As a result, Sadie is left alone in the home for many hours each day. Her parents realize that they do not have enough time their lives to give Sadie the quality attention and training she needs. They love her very much, but want the best for Sadie - a home where she will receive the love and attention that she deserves."

"Sadie's family has asked Dogs Deserve Better to find her a good home, where she will be loved and cherished for the rest of her life.

Sadie is a wonderful, loving girl!

She is housetrained and crate trained.

She currently lives with a feline companion. Sadie wants to play with the kitty - but intends her no harm. The cat on the other hand, is not fond of Sadie :)"

"Sadie loves people! She greets everyone she meets with a big wag if the tail and a sloppy kiss.

She enjoys being dressed up - she parades proudly around the home when she is given a pretty bandana to wear.

She walks fairly well on a leash. She knows how to "sit" and does so for a treat or a toy."

"Sadie is still a puppy - she loves to play and run. She is very silly when she has a toy - she rolls all around it with her belly in the air before playing with the object of her affection.

Sadie would do best in a home with no small children, as she is need of basic puppy training and does jump up on her human companions. "

"She would love a fenced in yard to romp around in!

Sadie is an absolute love. She has been bounced around too much in her life and deserves a home that will appreciate her loving personality and goofy ways!"

"Sadie is up-to-date on vaccinations and will be spayed before going to her forever home."

Well, little Sadie hasn't been living on easy street, but her recent life has certainly treated her nicely --

-- sure, she needs obedience, and we will make sure she spayed --

-- but what she really needs is someone to say, "I will stay with you and will love you unconditionally -- I won't leave you behind, and I'll do everything I can to make you flourish, which would include obedience class and even my being picky by feeding you only high quality dog food."

Can you do that? Can you imagine her return to you?

This is a great dog -- and now all she needs is a great person to look up to --

-- if that's you, fill out an adoption application above!
