Well, the heartache never ends, does it?

Here's momma Cass, and her babies.

Corey writes --

"The puppies exact age is unknown, but I can feel the start of teeth breaking the skin and they are active and responsive around me."

"They also gleefully slurp down an Esbilac and puppy food combo I give them. There are four black, two having white stripes down the face and two with solid black heads, but white on their bodies. Three are tan, two with black faces and one white and grey (similar coloring to Lila from Karma's litter).

I guess momma dog is 25-30 pounds. She is good with people and other dogs. I need to clip the doors of the crate or she will squeeze through without opening the crate door and can scale all kinds of gates and barricades between rooms. I'd like to sign her up for Cirque De Soleil.

Although momma dog has no apparent behavioral issues, she has serveral health issues. She has an old injury to one back leg and picks it up if she is walking fast or running. She has missing front teeth and there is bruising around the gum line. She is emaciated and I think it's probably safe to assume heartworm positive.

I have wormed momma and pups once and will worm again at two week intervals. I would like to give the pups a 5 week parvo vaccine and a six week 5 way vaccine before transport. I'm assuming they're four weeks now- correct me if I'm making a mistake. The pic of the pups with the momma is one week ago and the pics of the pups alone are from last night.

I'm trying to find someone who will agree to take on the momma dog long term as well as the pups.

Okay, so we have some pit-mix babies, and a momma who almost starved herself to care for her kin.

We want to help momma and her babies -- and it looks like Cass needs help the most.


So, with some generosity of some great people in Darien, CT, we're having a tag sale this weekend here.

In the next days, we'll get head-shots up for these babies, and we'll get help for momma Cass, maybe even a HOME -- !!
