Here's Windy, a poor girl hailing out of Cleveland -- her rescuer writes --

"Do you have any room for a pitt bull mix girl? She's very sweet but Ohio has strict laws and we're not equipped to handle her breed in our rescue.

She was pulled off the streets of Cleveland by a concerned citizen who contacted me through a friend of a friend (you know how that goes, I'm sure!)."

"She's a very sweet girl. She's at our vet now getting vaccinated. She's HW neg. We can't spay her now cuz she's in full blown heat!

She's a beautiful girl. The vet is guessing her at one year old. Good natured. A little scared of restraint but showed no sign of aggression, not even towards the cats wondering around the vet's office. No growling, snapping, or anything. Walks fairly well on the leash, pulls a little bit."

"She got all her vaccinations, heartworm negative, one year rabies, and bordetella. No spay because she's in full blown heat right now (she's really swollen bad!!!). Will give her a worming pill tomorrow. She weighs 42 pounds. Small girl."

Well, Windy is certainly sweet, and she will be spayed prior to her adoption --

-- that's the easy part.

Now, the hard part -- finding a caring, loving, commited home for a year-old pit bull mix --

-- impossible, you say?

PS - pit mixes often have all the wonderful traits of pit bulls, minus the strong dog aggression of pits -- we will assess Windy to see if she's this sort of girl!
