I told Chad of Buffalo Pug & Small Breed Rescue about this boy and he said, "get him -- if we don't, no-one else will" --
-- GOOD NEWS, CHAD --
-- here's his website --
|
Well, little Percy had a lot of "pug eye" problems, and we got him drops, but they were only temporary...
|
|
|
Back in Buffalo, Chad examined Percy and declared him a prince -- :) |
... and he proved himself a little man with the fellow puggers...
First things first -- Percy had to have both his eyes removed because they weren't doing him right any more...
... shortly thereafter, he was adopted out in Canada and a year went by...

2005 update!
|
May 2005 update -- his momma writes:
"It's Percy's one year anniversary of becoming a full fledged member of our family. I just want to send out a HUGE thank you to everyone who played a part in getting Percy into rescue, taking care of him and most importantly letting him go.
Percy is my heart and soul. He's so amazing and nothing stops him or slows him down. He has finally learned to go down stairs on his own. It was a huge accomplishment."
This feat can be seen to the left!

She continues:
"A special thanks to Aunty Kat, to whom we are forever grateful.
He is one remarkable boy!!! -- Kim"
GREAT WORK, ALL!

2006 update!
Kat, Percy's rescuer, emailed me this wood-art that Percy's mom recently commissioned -- it's lovely!
On his Dogster page, his momma writes,
"I don't see, but I get around very well. I use my nose and trust me I can smell food!! I am spoiled now and sleep on the big bed. Sometimes people say things about me but Mom says I'm an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10 whatever that means. I guess it's good cause she gives me lots of hugs and kisses."

Well, sometimes a feel-good story is in order, and Percy's story is just that --
-- past the day-to-day downers of rescue, where one often doesn't know if they can get another email surrendering a dog, this email was a worthy one to get -- !!

Thank you everyone, who made Percy's story a success -- you're definitely an inspiration!
