And, as always, the updates... 6 months after his placement, here's what Sarah writes...
"Let's see, he finished puppy kindergarten last month, and next month he's signed up for beginner obedience. We've been taking him to an obstacle class in the interim, and he totally loves it. I think he just loves being around other dogs, but he's not too bad at the obstacles for a beginner. We've been going to ABC obedience in guilford, recommended by a friend, and it's been great." |
She continues...
"Fenway (was Raven) is doing GREAT. Right now he's working on his tartar control by chewing on a nubby, rubber thingy. I got him the 'average chewer' one, and by the way it's quickly being destroyed, it looks like i need to go back and get the 'strong chewer' version. Ah, well. He's having a blast."
Now is this DOTING, or what??!!

And some more... good learning here...
"What other hurdles. . . housebreaking is done, thank goodness. We kept with the crate training and it has worked really well. I'm at home with him a lot, and I find it's just a matter of keeping him busy, i.e. keeping something chewable in his mouth, to keep him happy. Long walks each day help to burn that puppy energy too, and a tired puppy is a good puppy."

So there you have it, fulfillment in my placement -- a lovely household for a perfect boy -- |

Here he is at adoption... Sarah writes...
"Six month birthday is Thursday--maybe I'll dye his food green for St. Patty's day. Put a candle in it. Ha! We've had so much fun with him. He comes to school with me sometimes and to work with Jon in the evenings once and a while. We're really trying to socialize him with other dogs as much as we can too. He's had weekend trips to Boston and a two-week trip to Texas at Christmas, where he was able to terrorize my parents' overly-sedate beagle. I think it was good for both of them."
OK - when they're celebrating 1/2 birthdays, I am smitten -- !!

Here is dear Fenway today... in the same chair --
-- albeit, a little BIGGER -- !!
|
|
|
... and a movie... just press play... enjoy! |
Sarah's final words... which couldn't make me happier...
"I check in to your website occasionally to read about your other rescues. It's great to hear about the happy endings. I know you put so much work into this, and as proud parents, we're thrilled to be a part of it. I'll attach some pictures (and a movie), and send more later. My favorites are the growth-progress shots in the orange chair. He's quadrupled in size! Take care, and keep up the good work!
Sara and Jon, and Fenway"
