Blessings abound -- and pride!

Well, I received the following from Tana today (at left) --

"I adopted Bailey from SPBR almost 2 and a half years ago and he has been a joy in my life ever since.

He still comes to work with me everyday in our little mechanic's garage that borders a stream. There is plenty of room for him to stretch his long legs and plenty of people to spoil him. Our delivery guys have taken to carrying dog treats in their coats and our customers bring their children just to play with him.

Bailey is a wonderful companion and and if it weren't for you and your magnificent site I would never have had him in my life.
From my roommates and my co-workers and especially from me,
Thank you for making this possible.
:)

Keep up the great work Eric, SPBR looks better than ever!

At left, is little Bailey, as he came to SPBR, and at right is Bailey's dad, Nibbles, who I LOVE -- and who is at home in New Jersey -- happily -- !!

Here's little Bailey growing up --

-- who can avoid the cutesy pics -- ??!!

And here he is, as art --

And finally, my favorite story from Tana --

"Bailey is now full grown and happy. He interacts with strangers and children everyday and he's a love. Technically he is a mixed breed but I believe he looks every bit like an AmStaff. He gets mistaken for a Ridgeback an awful lot. Last year, Matthew and I (the owner of the Mechanic's garage I work at) helped raise some ducks and Bailey, strange as it is, helped protect them."

"He is a terrific companion and a rare dog indeed. He's got a sweet and gentle soul."

So, why do we do it?

Why do we trek across states to help these dogs?

Why do we call in vacation days to do home visits, and spend grocery money on dog food?

For reasons like this, precisely.

This is a wonderful story, and it makes life worth living, in short.

Thank you, Tana and Bailey -- you made many peoples' days brighter with this story, and SPBR is proud to have helped you get to where you are -- !!
