Lia's loving, loved, and a little lady!!

Click here for Lia's 2008 update!

Click here for her March 2005 update!

Here's little Lia, 1 of 13 puppies born to darling Dea in November, 2004 --

-- she's 2 weeks old here --

For a better idea of Lia's siblings,
here they are, mixed in with
Satin's babies!

Here she is at 8 weeks, with her future forever parents --

-- GOOD FOLK they are -- they even brought a photo album of their last pit, NeNa --

-- her Momma writes of NeNa --

"She was like our baby - she talked to us like a kid, and got mad when she didn’t get her way. When we gave in, she would come give us and give kisses, just like a kid. She picked me up at work with my husband every day, and my co-workers all knew NeNa and came to the car to say hello."

She continues --

"She received gifts from our relatives and friends like she was one of the kids. We never had any problems with her of any kind. We miss her very much. My son gave us NeNa when she was only a few weeks old. I did all her training, I talked to her like she was a person, and she understood everything. "

That is love.

Well, little Lia has some big shoes to fill, that's for sure --

-- here at the home visit, she gets the low-down from Teeny, the resident Chi -- :D

Teeny isn't at ALL convinced of his new sister -- !!

... though a little coddling seems to help...

... and with that, they're a happy family... drool, drool, pant, pant, right, Teeny??

look at little Lia, too -- still growing in to herself -- !!

Well, pass a few months, and the little Lia has grown...

... and grown ...

... she now makes little Teeny a lot teenier -- !!

... and it's SO good to see the two are love-birds!

So, that's this girl's story -- a long way from crushing on Thor in the puppy pen --

She's loved and loving in a non-tradtional
home -- by people my parents' generation
who wouldn't think twice of saying,
"Oh, she's a nice dog,
but she's the WRONG BREED"

Instead, they love her for what she is, and for
what she is going to be with them --

-- how I'd love to see little Lia's face in the front
seat of the car, proud as a peacock,
going to pick up her mom each day from work --

GOOD JOB, GIRL!!!

March 2005 update!

Well, Spring has come around, and our little Lia is happy as a clam in her forever home -- !!

I am not quite sure of the caption for this picture... though someone better watch their back -- !!

PHEW -- turns out little Lia was focused on something other than the immortal -- !!

Anyway, back to easy living... here's Lia and her momma in the house, givin' up love...!

Here's the little girl and her brother, Teeny -- well, he has certainly been outgrown by his little sister -- !!

but don't forget, little Lia's still a princess, here on her momma's bed -- BABY -- !!

next, the journey in to the bathroom -- ooohhh.... aahhhhh... !!!

... and that thar' tub -- why, it's so interestin' - !!!

Finally, our little lady is settled in, and I have no worries if this girl is happy or not --

-- she's DOTED on -- and lives like she's in Luckenbach, Texas --

-- GOOD GIRL, LIA!

Little Teeny says,

"Oh, thank you, too, for my sister -- I love her so"...

GOOD WORK, ALL!

2008, and the past three years have been a BREEZE!

Well, it's January 2008, and Egna writes --

"Hi Eric

Let me tell you a bit of Lia - She's the most intelligent dog I ever seen, She's the center of our life - everything is done around her.
"

"Attached you will find some shots from 2005, 2006 and 2007, Let me know how you like them.

Thank you again
Egna
"

Ummm --

-- okay --

-- did you READ this -- ??

"She's the center of our life - everything is done around her."

I am so proud.

Here is Ms. Lia --

-- a pit bull adopted as a babe, and raised in a loving and caring home --

-- even with a little Chi, named Teeny --

-- and she's flourishing.

This girl is not acting out, biting people, biting Teeny, looking angry --

-- instead, she is loved, and loving.

She shows, to me, the potential of this great breed, in the ideal setting.

And too, don't forget, Lia is a black dog --

-- the common "unwanteds" in shelters by adopters, since they apparently don't have enough "bling" --

-- well, to me, black is beautiful -- no other coats SHINE and GLIMMER as much as the black ones -- when beautiful -- !!

Here, Lia says, "I'm the same size as Teeny -- honestly -- !!"

What a gift.

So, to counter all the negative press of this breed, and to counter all the garbage that can "own" them, we have Lia --

-- our pride and joy.

Thank you so much, Egna, for showing this girl the good life --

-- for never giving her a bad day --

-- and for reminding us here at SPBR of why we do what we do -- you're all great -- !!
