Little Piper's a hit,
and all she had to do
was act naturally!
!!
Click here for their 2010 update!
Click here for her one-year 2005 update!
Here's dear Piper, Satin's puppy, who was previously Midnight.
She was orignally placed in Mt. Kisco, NY, and was returned they said because their "cat ran away the day we adopted midnight and we haven't seen him since."
"Hmpf," said Midnight, as she trotted off to Will and Cat's house -- a true forever home --
-- and for good measure, she even had them change her name to "Piper" -- which fits her just fine!
|
|
|
Here she is, meeting her new momma, Cat -- Will and Cat are newlyweds, and they love little Piper! |
Always the highlight of a home-visit -- a new collar! |
|
|
... and her collar fits her perfectly, making her look like a princess, accenting her sleek black coat -- !! |
Motherly love can't be beat -- !! |
|
|
Here, Piper meets her new sister, Cheyenne, a rescue herself, and a real lady -- !! |
So there we have it -- a happy, loving family -- complete with baby! |
|
|
Fast forward a month, and little Piper has grown, filling out in to a darling young lady! |
Will writes:
"Her and Cheyenne are quite the duo, and as I had wanted to see, Cheyenne's maternal instincts truly shine. Piper does everything her sister does. She's a handful and loves ripping apart boxes and paper towels and enjoys her saturday and sunday trips to Cranbury Park. She is definitely getting much bigger!!!" |
|
|
So there she is, miles from the New Haven shelter, where she was a surrender in utero, with her momma, Satin.
Satin now enjoys her days in RI, at her adoptive home, and little Piper, it's quite obvious, lives the life of a princess! |
THANK YOU, Will and Cat, to starting your new life together with this little princess -- she will return the favor with years of love and joy! |
|
One year - Fall, 2005!
|
Well, you can see our little lady Piper has been spending the past year in absolute bliss... |
Her Dad writes --
"I thought I would send you some pics of Piper now that she is almost a year!
Someone is getting a big steak on saturday (Sept 17)!
Thanks again...we really love her lots.
Hope this finds you well.
Will & Cat"

Well, updates like this definitely find me well -- !!
Here's the proud father, with his girls --
-- GREAT WORK, Will and Kat -- keep her pretty and keep us updated -- !!
|
Five years in to it, SPBR's Piper and Stella are a big part of the family!
From Cat --
"Hello Eric,
A long time has passed but not much has changed; we are still very much in love with Piper and Stella, our SPBR rescues."
|
|
|
"Anyhow, the reason for this email is to thank you once again for what you do. Not only did Will and I enjoy Piper and Stella as newlyweds, but now that we have a 20 month old little girl Lola (and expecting another) we see how much Lola enjoys and loves her "sisters." |
"Attached are a few of the photos that I am sure will make you smile!
Again, thank you!!!!
All the best,
Catalina"

|
Well, the more years I'm in to rescue, the more rewarding it is --
-- I can still remember the phone call from New Haven shelter, asking me to help with pregnant Satin -- here story here --
-- and now, five years later, her kin is here, a thriving family member, along with Stella, another SPBR "saved" --
-- how fulfilling -- !!
|
So thank you, Will and Cat, for making these two pups two of yours --
-- for not saying, "We looked at rescues, but couldn't find a dog that fit, so we went to a backyard breeder" --
-- for fully socializing these two with your little 'un, so they'll grow together in love and understanding --
-- six years after the adoption, and all have succeeded here --
-- what a happy ending --
