Well, the boys went home, and they're keeping their names!!

Well, our recent journeys led us to Long Island for a home visit --

-- here Spud is, trying to convince me that he is MORE than qualified to drive -- !!

Upon our arrival, a Long Island that looks more like Hilton Head than anything -- !!

This is Americana at its best, and for the 4-leggers, a lovely setting --

-- Elvis covertly tries to stay behind, but I've got a close eye on him -- !!

The babies, Titus and Waylon, from the South Carolina litter here --

And the prospective family... making this a family affair -- !!

At first, they were interested in with Titus or Waylon and said, "Well, bring them both out" --

-- you can imagine what happened from there -- !!

This is an exceptional family if there ever were one --

-- they adopted a pit/lab mix from a rescue in Summer 2004 --

-- the puppy wasn't completely vaccinated, due to an oversight by the rescue, and the puppy developed distemper, starting as a upper respiratory and then as an intestinal problem --

For the 50 days they had their baby, she was in the emergency clinic for 40 of them --

-- the expenses, both financially and emotionally, were enormous -- and they gave this girl all they could --

-- when she came home, they would make their hot-tub room a steam room, going in there with her, just to clear out her sinuses --

-- they love this girl dearly.

In the end, she was suffering seizures and pain, so she was humanely euthanized --

-- this was November, 2004 --

The family as a whole waited almost a year to look at their next adoption --

-- and they thankfully went with rescued pups --

-- but the only question here was --

WELL, which ONE??!!

If it were me, I couldn't pick between these two labby-pit-um-puppies --

:D

PS - we're still not sure how much "pit bull" they have in them, but that doesn't matter much now -- !!

When Titus, the runt, learns they will keep his name, which fits him just right, thank you, he's ELATED!

Waylon will keep his name, too, if chosen to stay -- !!

I say my good-byes to these loves, who at 11 weeks are the sweetest little things --

Little Waylon and me --

And then the decision's made -- they're BOTH staying --

-- brothers forever -- !!

-- and I couldn't be happier, nor know of a better family --

So, GOOD WORK, to all -- these boys are home forever, and they're going to be spoiled -- in the best way possible!
