Pinto's problem turned out to be a charm in his life!!

Click here to see Pinto (now Jack) at one year!

Here's the story of little Pinto, the pit bull puppy that was surrendered to animal control in South Carolina because of a bent tail...

... how his tail got bent we don't know, but his back-yard-breeders thought it affected his "sale-ability", so they dumped him at the shelter --

-- that little tail made a world of difference to Pinto -- instead of a life of being sold for his value as a pit bull, risking a life of dog-fighting or being tied up in a back yard and forgotten, he went to this...

SUBURBIA -- !!!

Now I am not usually a big fan of settling down, but for this boy, it's PERFECT! Here he goes and checks out his digs with his new grandma --

-- and he is quickly met by his brother -- a true celebration himself --

-- this boy was rescued at one year old from the Hartford / Newington pound -- a shelter that keeps their dogs for 7 days before they are killed --

-- a miracle, of sorts --

The boys meet, and Pinto naturally follows...

... and play they do -- !!

Pinto has a more compact turning radius, that's for sure, and his butt doesn't bounce so high off the ground -- !!

-- his brother is patient, waiting up for the little lad --

-- and they finally tire, and end it with a hug, or pummel, whichever you choose -- !!

Inside, little Pinto quickly finds the toy basket...

... and this boy's life is made. Lauren works at the local vet clinic, and her mom is a huge fan of the breed.

Lauren writes in her application:

"I want to make a difference in a dogs life and give them the loving home they deserve. Especially pit bulls. They have such a bad reputation and I want to help change that."

GREAT WORK, ALL!

Pinto (now Jack) at one year!

Well, a year has gone by, and Lauren sends update on hear dear Jack, formerly Pinto --

-- I couldn't be happier --

-- she writes --

"Eric - sorry it took me so long to get these to you..... here are some older pics of jack (formerly pinto).

I'll have some more recent ones soon! his birthday is in a few days!!! (1 year old!!!!!yay!)"

"The first pic was from when jack was 3 months old... the other two pics were taken when jack was 5 months old.

He is pictured with his big brother (and best friend) dozer.

I'll send you the birthday pics soon!!

-Lauren"

Well, Jack's journey is complete, from his terminal days at a Southern pound to now having birthday parties at his loving home --

-- I love updates like this -- they answer the question always in the back of my head like, "I wonder how little Jack is that I placed last year" --

-- well, now we know how little Jack is, and we also know that Lauren proved herself a wonderful adopter --

-- we all look forward to pictures of little Jack's first birthday party, and GREAT WORK, LAUREN!
