Kaya's triumph in Teaneck!
Click here for this girl's 6 month check-up!
Enter Kaya, a nine week old pit bull puppy, rescued by Charlie, of Bridgeport, CT, two weeks back, on the rough and tumble streets of urban Bridgeport.
Charlie said the people holding Kaya (we can't call them owners, we can't call them guardians, so we'll call them that) were going to raise her for fighting.
Well, Charlie knew better than that -- he envisioned little Kaya in a red and white sweater, and all purtied up for adoption --
-- so he did the great thing of buying her off of these kids, getting her that sweater, and delivering her to rescue -- !!
Next, pass a couple of weeks, and Kaya's off to Teaneck, New Jersey to meet her two new forever parents -- newlywed PharmDs who have a small surprise for this girl... |
... a surprise that lurks around the corner... |
"EEKS," she says, "Did y'all SEE that -- !!" |
As quickly as she can find shelter under
the sofa, she's hunted by a short-furred
boy with a nibbly tail... |
... and nibbly it definitely is -- !! |
Baby Kaya stands her ground, beginning
to play with her new-found boy-friend...
... and Kaya decides that all's well in this new incus, and exits her cover... |
... and she's as free as a bird now... |
... till, that is, baby Rex, the one-year old Boston Terrier, spots her and plans his attack... |
Here's the detail on this little man... |
... and then the playing begins... God only knows where the upper body to that poor stuffed animal is -- !! |
... all was good for little Kaya, till Rexer figured out he could pull her around the floor by his mouth -- !! |
... next, on to the parents... who give a resounding YAY to little Kaya!! |
That technicality determined,
the play ensues...
Finally, the babies try to relax a bit and settle in to a family photo... |
... and there we've got it, with two loving parents, camera-ham Rex, and little Kaya...
... here's what Charlie, Kaya's Bridgeport rescuer, had to say, seeing this page...
"Hey Eric this is Charlie I gave Kaya to you. What you do is wonderful, and through you these dogs are all given second chances. It is rare to find someone with true heart and passion for something so righteous. You contribute tremendously to the lives of these dogs as well as there owners. You bring them joy as well as other great things. Please never give up. Stay focused. Your web site is great and the pictures truly professional. I really wish you the best it is great to know there is a person like you out there. Take Care Charlie,"
Thank you to everyone, mostly Charlie, for making this girl's life more than she could ever have imagined -- we all owe you -- !!!
Live well, dear Kaya, and make us proud!

Ruby's 6 month update!
Well, 6 months has passed, and dear Rex and his momma send us an update -- |
She writes:
"We just wanted to send a quick message to let you know that Ruby (formerly Kaya) is doing great!
Ruby is such a sweet little girl and she is getting cuter every day. She loves to chase her brother Rex all around the house and after a long day of playing loves to sleep on her favorite reclining chair. (This used to be John's chair!)"
and...
"She has made a lot of friends in the neighborhood and at the dog park, where she loves to play. She was a little shy with the other dogs at first, but quickly came out of her shell."
Finally --
"Ruby has been such a wonderful addition to our family, thank you for bringing her us!
Take care,
Janine, John, Rex and Ruby"
Well, we think Mr. Rex and his parents made a great choice with Ruby --
-- she is developing in to a responsibly-owned, loving and loved pit bull --
Thank you, everyone, for taking this girl from the dog-fighting streets of Bridgeport to the comfort of a nurturing home with loving parents and sweet brother Rex --
-- GREAT WORK -- !!
