Dear Eric,
My name is Isabella and I am 13 years old and I admire you so much. I have always wanted a dog and i love to research on different breeds. |
|
|
The pit bull is my favorite and I have talked over getting a puppy from you. I have a sister and our favorite is Romey (the baby). |
I have read just about every story you have on your website. The story about Sugar was very sad, it must have been very hard for you. |
|
|
Well my parents have said that we can get a puppy in the spring, and I will surely consider you and your pups. |
When I get older I want to be a veterinarian. Your stories and memories that you share on your website are truly inspiring to me.
Once again I admire and appreciate what you do for all these dogs.

I know that many people assume that pit bulls are bad dogs but when I am older I want to have a shelter just like you and change their minds.
In my free time I come onto your website and read the stories you have. (I also look at the puppies hehe) you are like an idol to me. Thank You :)
Love,
Isabella Rose

Well, all I can say is a sincere "thank you" to Isabella from everyone at SPBR.
SPBR is a legion of people with a passion for pit bulls (and somethimes other breeds!) who honestly believes in the beauty and character of this breed.
Oftentimes, we wonder, "Are we really making a difference?"
Well, Isabella, you have confirmed that.

From the August day in 1997, when I first met my Spud (at left), fell in love, and adopted him in an Upstate New York shelter, I have been transformed by this breed.
So, to Spud, to Melinda, to the forum, to our adopters and to the the almost 2 million viewers of spbr.org in the past 4 years, many like Isabella...
... thank you. Thank you for giving us -- SPBR and its many dogs -- a chance.

My hope is to leave the world a little better for my having been there."
