A celebration of life...
Puppy Flavio shares a victory moment with his new sister and me late Sunday night -- our final home visit!! |
3 Days, 5 states, 26 home visits and 1,000 miles later...
... Dea's, Satin's and Nibbles' puppies are LOVED!

This past week has been one of the best I can remember. Dea's, Satin's and Nibbles' puppies all came of age, were spayed / neutered, and I then had the privilege of visiting 24 homes for these loves.
All I can say is WOW -- what great homes and what great adopters -- I was so happy to see the crates, toys, and CELEBRATIONS awaiting these babies!

All three of the canine parents were intialy in dire straits, unwanted, either as pregant mother or father. I initially received some "suggestions" to abort the mothers' puppies and to focus more on adult pit bulls in shelters needing homes.
I am glad I didn't -- many of these placements were by adopters who did their homework and who got specific advice from their vets to get a puppy -- either because they they had another dominant pup, they had cats, allergies, etc.
I am so proud to live in a country that allows us individually to make these choices -- I know that sounds sappy, but it's true!

I was amazed at the pride of the adopters, too -- especially with the pit bulls --
-- so many of them are tired of hearing negative stories in the press about pit bulls that are raised and owned improperly --
-- these new parents want to make a difference with their pups, taking them to obedience class, integrating them in to their homes, and showcasing what wonderful pets pit bulls can be!

Little Hoagie, above right, even fell in to the mix! Two weeks ago, Hoagie was abandoned, tied to a park bench in Boston -- today he is living with JP, an art teacher at a CT boarding school, and romping with Boo, JP's girlfriend's pup, originally adopted from SPBR! |
I also saw how these babies are going to help their families breathe a little bit easier. From puppies named for family members no longer with us, to pups adopted in lieu of having two-legged babies, for whatever reason, these loves will bring many smiles and joys to their new families. |
The variety of adopters is also great -- from financial traders, asset managers, IT managers, police officers and PhD candidates to Christian camp counselors and empty-nesters, these babies will do great in their varied settings! |
So, a big THANK YOU to all the great adopters out there, and to all the great people who have helped these babies along the way! I am also blessed to have the energy and ability to have helped these loves to this point in their lives. |
So, over the next week or two, I'll put up a page for each puppy, which that baby will have for life, getting updated from the new parents, to see these loves continue to grow and love. Please also remember that parents Dea, Satin and Nibbles are available for adoption to wonderful homes.
Thank you all, for helping us celebrate life!
